Prevention of dental caries

[Dental caries] is a professional term of "cavity". Dental caries is a disease that teeth are seceded due to acid causing cavity germ to be created by using sugar inside mouth. Preventive management is very important for this disease. Thus, after assessing the dental caries risk of patients, doctors decide proper examination period for each patient, and conduct customized oral management such as toothbrushing education, diet consulting, oral prophylaxis, fluorine coating and sealant.

Treatment of dental caries

If dental caries is found in early stage, the damaged part is removed and replaced with the part involving dental material(resin, glass ionomer etc.). For serious dental caries, after endodontic treatment, the teeth with preformed stainless steel crown or zirconia crown are covered. The department provides professional treatment to children and adolescents suffering from various types of dental caries such as early dental caries of baby tooth, or multiple dental caries during childhood, early dental caries of erupted permanent tooth

If there is any supernumerary tooth or odontoma in child's mouth, it interrupts normal eruption. In case, they need to be removed. If teeth are erupted in abnormal route or cannot be erupted after normal period, it not only causes esthetic problem, but also dissolves roots of surrounding teeth. In this case, the problem is apprehended through diagnosis analysis and conduct proper treatment for normal arrangement of teeth.

When all the baby teeth are replaced with permanent teeth, various methods of teeth setting management are conducted to form normal occlusion. Malocclusion indicates abnormal functional and esthetic occlusion due to abnormal location of upper, lower jaw and teeth. There are various types of malocclusion such as abnormal shape of teeth, dislocation of teeth. By treating with growth phase during childhood and adolescent, it minimizes worsening of malocclusion. Through clinical and radiography examination, the diagnosis analysis is conducted and proceeded to proper treatment for normal arrangement of teeth.

Sedation and
General anesthesia

If the patient is too young, disabled or too afraid of dental treatment to proceed the procedure, laughing gas or sedation drug is used to sedate patient for treatment. If sedation is not enough, the professional medical team will put anesthesia on the patient.
