- It has been reported that periodontal disease is related diabetes, angina, cardiac infarction, obesity, osteoporosis, asthma, and premature baby of pregnant women. Treatments provided by periodontics to maintain surrounding tissue of teeth and implant in health condition are (1) non-surgical treatment(eg. scaling), (2) surgical treatment removing infection(eg. periodontitis surgery), (3) gingivoperiosteoplasty transplanting hard gum(eg. gum transplant), (4) alveolar bone regeneration surgery reviving absorbed bone, (5) implant on extracted teeth and (6) lifelong management treatment. Periodontal disease cannot be completely healed. They only can be controlled.
